I feel private about my sex life, do I have to share intimate parts of my life if I sign up for the course?
I totally understand. This course was designed with you in mind. No one will ask you to share any intimate details about your life, you won’t be put on the spot or forced into any situation. You don't have to join the online community or group calls if you don't want to. You are free to take in this work in whatever way feels good and nourishing to you.
How is Yoga for Sexual Wellness different from taking any other yoga class?
Great question! There are lots of great classes out there, but most yoga classes taken in a studio or online are not designed specifically for a woman's sexual wellness. After years of research, education, and experimentation, I’ve curated practices and designed asana sequences that offer the best ways for women to reduce stress, build strength, and channel sexual energy for healing. Women need a safe space to do this work and a typical yoga studio or TT program aren’t necessarily in context to support this evolution. We are here to “open up this can,” to dig in deep, and to witness one another step into their power through their sexuality. That’s what this yoga program is designed to do.
I have a history of sexual trauma, is this course right for me?
It might be perfect for you, with some caveats. This course is designed with trauma-sensitive approach and loaded with practices & techniques to help you unpack your history, re-calibrate the nervous system, and support you into feeling super safe in your own body. We do all of this before diving into the juiciest, sexual pieces. However, it is not recommended for anyone who is actively still recovering from their trauma (if you are strongly triggered, or have not been through psychotherapy), or anyone who is currently in an unhealthy or abusive relationship. Please ask your counselor if they think this is the right program to support you.
What kind of support do I get when I enroll in the Yoga For Sexual Wellness online course?
We want you to feel very supported by us and this community! We do this in a few ways. First, in the online course itself. It is a trauma-informed, self-paced experience that eases you into the work. You do this in the comfort of your home, on your time, moving at a pace that feels good to you. However, structure can help you feel safe and focused. So we offer a solid structure for the materials & practices that you can relax into.
Secondly, we have a private online community for those enrolled in our course. When you want to share, connect, be seen or get questions answered - you have a place to come!
Third, you can contact us by email and we’re more than happy to answer any questions you have.
If you sign up during the promotional special, you will get 2 amazing bonuses. The first is two monthly group coaching calls to get your most burning questions answered. The second is two one-on-one coaching calls with Emily. During these calls, we can work through any hang ups or tough spots and keep your energy flowing in the right direction. Our goal was to create an opportunity for women to feel truly supported as they let go of anything not serving them, so if you have more suggestions, we would love to hear them.
I really want to increase my libido and feel more pleasure when I have sex. I've been feeling more numb and less pleasure the last few years, how can Yoga for Sexual Wellness help me?
The female libido is scientifically complex. But when you look at this from a yogic lens - it becomes more about energy impacting physiology. When you are not feeling pleasure during sex, you’re likely not going to be wanting to have more of it! You’re likely feeling defeated or broken. Yoga asana, journaling, and meditation will help you bring your attention to your hips, pelvic floor, sex organs, and nervous sytem & the emotional & spiritual components associated with these parts of the body. When you bring your attention into these areas, you will have an increase in the flow of energy to these areas. Slowly, when you do consistent practices and spend time integrating what you’ve learned, you will begin to clear energy blockages and feel more sensation. It may not happen overnight, but any woman who goes through this whole course and gives herself the time, stillness and attention that we really require, will come out the other side with a greater sensitivity to sexual pleasure and a stronger drive for the sex she wants.
I feel nervous about focusing on my sexuality, like I have a lot of stress and negativity wrapped up in my sexual and relationship history. How can I address that stress if I take your course?
This is a really important question, one that we considered deeply when designing this course. Often, "sex courses" seem to just jump right into top ten tips and techniques to do x-y-z thing, but they don't take into account the nervous system, previous stresses, baggage and emotional reactions that we may have. Woven into each week of this 6 month experience are practices and lessons to reduce overall stress load, we move slowly and carefully though this process of peeling back the layer one by one as a speed that is determined by you. We ease our way into this work. It's not about trying one magic technique that makes everything better. It's a slow steady process of finding what you need on an individual level to feel safe and connected to your truest, most soulful, sexual self. When you feel more receptive to pleasure in your body & life, we work on expanding orgasmic sensation.
Are the videos pornographic in nature?
Not at all.
Will it really take me six months?!
The course materials are paced out over a six month period because it takes time to integrate what you're learning. This course is designed for sustainability and to support you into your power. You have to give yourself time to work with the teachings rather than just piling all the information in as quickly as possible. If you move through too much too fast, you could become overwhelmed and shut down. That being said, the course is self-paced and you are welcome to move through it at a pace that works for you.
I've done yoga a few times but I haven't been introduced to what it means to be a student of yoga, nor have I been taught by a teacher how to do poses correctly. Can I still take the course?
The women who are most successful with YSW have been taught how to do basic yoga poses with proper alignment, and have a basic understanding of what yoga is and what it means to be a student of yoga. The asana we do employs common poses with specific modifications for addressing the female pelvic floor. If you are newer to yoga but feel a strong YES, reach out to me via the Contact page and we can discuss a coaching package that's right for you.
